Standardizing eFMI for embedded systems with physical models in the production code software
Dr. Oliver Lenord (Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany)
The new eFMI (FMI for embedded systems) standard is currently developed within the European publicly funded ITEA3 EMPHYSIS project. The standard is aiming to bridge the gap between physical modeling and embedded software development in order to support tool chains to utilize advanced model based controllers, observers/virtual sensors, monitors, fault detectors in electronic control units and other embedded devices. The standard specifies a container architecture supporting multiple concurrent model representations, an implementation independent intermediate format for physical models, and target specific model representations with MISRA compliant Production Code. The talk will present the motivation, supporting community and the expected benefits of the new standard. The intended workflow and considered types of model representations will be explained along with a simple demonstration example. A status of the current prototype development and an outlook on planned usage scenarios will conclude the talk.
